Game History: Valvalis died at the hands of Kain and party, then once again because Zemus thought it a good idea to put her corpse back to work. Two fights, two failures, and an endless black of sleep.
Until she woke up somewhere utterly unfamiliar. Under the impression that it was yet another attempt by her master Golbez, or his higher master to make her work once more, she sought out those who were her allies, but instead found herself in a completely different world... caged in a sense. Stripped of much of the devastating power she was created with, and grafted with a small pair of wings that would KILL her mere existence if she dared remove them, she was forced to live amongst those whom she was designed to destroy; humans.
But... that wasn't so bad actually... Much of the problem came with her not knowing what to do with herself. Forced to cooperate with others, and her powers rent down to that of a bad wind in a rainstorm or a passing dervish in a desert, she was more or less bored. Much of her time was spent listening to the troubles of others through the pages of a book used to communicate across great distances. It wasn't a task she wanted to undertake, but there was little else to be done.
Naturally, she found herself at the ire of many; as a creature, a construct that was meant to kill off any whom opposed her master(s), she mocked those whom were injured or killed by the strange, and seemingly random events that would occur inside her cage of a township. Curiously though, perhaps taking to them akin to her own minions, the Magus Sisters, Valvalis found herself becoming fond of children... or at least those physically younger to her. This was compounded by the fact that, more than once, she had been turned into a child herself.
Val went through several physical changes over time, that gradually led to mental changes as well. Amongst being turned into a child, she also had her gender swapped for a week, was turned into a man she hated the most (Kain Highwind), and haunted by the spirits of those she'd known who had died (the other 3 Elemental Fiends). "Experiments" they were called, and they happened frequently, affecting most everyone. Within months of her being trapped within this township, she'd come to realize that she'd have to change if she'd ever find anyone whom would sympathize with her when things became too intense, or inconvenient.
First, she apologized to those she knew from her world... many of them cared not to even listen, and one of which would never receive an apology; an everlasting grudge she'd hold with Kain until she would eventually leave. But with her conscience clear, apologies accepted or not, she was able to start making friends amongst those who would slowly come and go.
Eventually Valvalis would come to permanently adopt one of the town's children, Kirimi, whom looked up to her as a sister, rather than a mother figure. That figure in the girl's life would be Neliel, another woman who was similarly a sort of 'inhuman' like herself. About a year into their relationship, the man whom created Valvalis, Golbez, would appear. No longer controlled by Zemus, Golbez was free to do as he pleased, and was rather shocked at the kind of person that Val had become. In time, they'd move past the state of 'creator' and 'master' and step things up to a father/daughter relationship; one far more enjoyed when Val was turned into a child more than once after this. Val would also adopt another woman into her extended family, a woman even taller than her, a Spartan named Daisy. Though things between them at first were a one-sided flirt, they took to one another as kin given both of them were just as socially awkward as the other.
Unfortunately, in a world where misery and poor fortune was not only expected, but gauged, recorded, and forced upon the occupants again and again, the happy life and family Val had built up was slowly torn apart. It started with Kirimi being sent home... thinking something far worse of it, Val went on a rampage, unleashing all the power she could muster to begin destroying buildings until she got what she wanted. Sadly, she got neither the girl back, or an answer she wanted to hear. She was shoved into a week of isolation, stripped of senses and power until her sentence was served. Next followed her father, Golbez, returned to where he belonged, and soon Neliel behind him, neither to be seen again. However, it was during her grieving that she, too, was sent back to whence she came... which for her was simply the dark void of 'death' until something else would once again bring her back.
Personality: Val started off as a fairly selfish and destructive being. She had little concern for humans and their frequent crying about pain and death, as she was oft the cause before her arrival in Luceti. She treated their cries and complains like annoyances, citing that death and injury are far too common to continue complaining; basically telling them to shut up but with more verbal justification. She too had a significant fondness for women. She never questioned how that came to be, being a creature of magical construct, rather than one of birth, and thus not exposed to gender and sexuality in the same way a human might be. It was simply how she was, and aside Golbez, her creator, she spent more time around women than she did anyone else.
Alas the combination of the two contradict one another. Not caring for a humans complaints, and her desire to be around women, (and she had plenty of new ones to be around), the clashing ideals blew up on her face one too many times that she would have liked.
Just like anyone else, Valvalis suffered many experiences physically and mentally, and a number of them would leave a significant impact on her. Though many were just a mild inconvenience, several, such as having her very gender, age, and sexual interest altered, left an impact on her, more or less from a social perspective than a personal one. Val finally realized what she's been doing to others, and it began a change in a creature meant to destroy. She apologized to those from her world, of which there were many, yet only one forgave her. Who would truly forgive a woman who actively tried to kill them, repeatedly? She also took to a fondness for children, and began raising one of the community's many "orphans", simply because she'd been one herself and had nobody to turn to.
When her creator, Golbez, arrived, be developed a sense of family, as did he, due to her experiences and influence. Calling him her Father, rather than creator, as well as adopting an extended family of sisters as well as a long term lover. However, her true destructive nature was only suppressed, rather than completely removed. When the various nature of the "Experiments" took hold and caused harm to her family, or even the utterly random nature of bringing and taking people away, she's lost control more than once and laid waste to large portions of the community in her rampage.
Like the wind itself, she's very fickle. As simple as hearing a certain someone's voice, she can go from motherly and gentle, to a savage storm... But that'd just how much she hates Kain... and how much she loves her family. She's also very mischievous, and hasn't quite taken to the concept of monogamy. She'll flirt with nearly anyone, teenaged and older, but never reveal if she's being sincere, or simply looking to get a reaction because she knows not every girl is into women like her.
Third-Person Sample: Things seemed like just darkness for an eternity. Nothing to really 'return' to as she was sent back to where she'd come from before her entrapment and life in Luceti... Though just when it seemed there'd be hope for her, when things would have gotten infinitely better... it only made matters more confusing.
As if in her dying moments, her life and memories flashed before her, like screens and paintings zooming towards her before being shattered like a hammer through a pane of glass.
The blonde Fiend would finally awaken, shading her eyes from even the cloudy sun as she looks around. Finding she's not where she wanted to be, she takes a moment, long before her Moogle even arrived to greet her. Already she was uncomfortable with the situation. She was being toyed with once again, wasn't she? Another experiment?
"First take everyone away, then place me somewhere different. They are quite pushing my limits aren't they?" the woman scowls, not realizing that her voice no longer carried the same sort of 'whisper on the wind' that it had before. "I tire of these games." she growls before making one of the most embarrassing motions she'd ever done in her entire existence.
She falls forward, flat on her face. The sudden placement of herself in 'another experiment' made her ignorant to what had really occurred. She was not only clothed, but heavily so. She not only had her magic replaced, but she no longer controlled the wind. In her attempt to take to the air and fly, she simply moved her body forward, tripping on the robes and sent herself and a trailing mass of golden hair straight to the pavement below.
There was no frustration. There was no yelp of pain. There was only sobbing. A monster curling up on the ground in her hair and unwelcome clothing and crying as she'd begun before she'd been jerked from one world to another, dwelling on the loss of everything she had before.
Mognet Sample: To those who've arrived before me,
How soon until this charade is over. I would like to have my power back. For that matter, how long until they quit pretending this is some new fanciful place. I find it utterly difficult to believe anything this little fluffball says until I see someone that I know tell me the exact same thing.
I suppose I can appreciate it's effort in keeping up the facade. It's a rather elaborate ruse really.
(And tacked on by the Moogle herself)
I don't know why she believes this place is somewhere other than Crysalis, but... do humor her. I like being able to breathe.

Moogle Name: Kukaze
Moogle Gender: Female
First Job: Black Mage
Second Job: Illusionist
Limit Break: Elemental Lord: Valvalis has the full extent of her powers returned for 5 minutes. She's able to cast all levels of 'Wind' magic, including Maelstrom, which can reduce all targets' HP to single digits. Probably more important than that is her ability to spin her indestructible hair around her body like a golden tornado, making her immune to any manner of attack that isn't a Dragoon 'Jump'ing on her.
