Well, it's not up to us who stays and who leaves, so there's no point thinking about it too much. The girl doesn't seem especially affected by Luceti's... troubles anyway. Perhaps she has you to thank for that.

I think she's possibly too young to discern the difference that this is real and not one of her car-tunes. I think that by me trying to teach her magic has further prolonged her innocence.
